Ghenrietta Gordon — In the midst of unknown forests and forgotten fields, in the strange place which most people never heard of, there lies a small village called Chodroyal. Only a few people know about this place, which is located about a hundred kilometers from Yoshkar-Ola in Eastern Russia. Not only is this illusory village very hard to find on the map, it is even impossible to locate a road leading to it.

No paths connect there, no signs show in its direction, and no people speak of it. But what is so unusual about Chodroyal?
The history indicates that about 300 years ago, a few people, who were trying to survive the typhus epidemics, made their way into the forest, where the village is now located. They found the way to heal themselves and stay alive. Ever since, the magical force of Chodroyal heals everyone who steps onto its land and asks for healing.
The name Chodroyal means a “forest village”. A very long time ago, it used to be a swamp area which made it nearly impossible to get around; yet, the people who came to its land hundreds of years ago, with their sincere intentions to survive and make an honest living, connected with this strange place in the most faithful and purified way. They became healers.
The interesting part about the landscape where the village is located, is a wide crater in the middle of the forest. It is believed that hundreds of years ago, way before when the first survivors called it their home, an unknown aircraft fell into these grounds and created a deep crater. Also, the local people living in the village believe that the old trees that surround this beautiful place carry a tremendous amount of energy that heals everyone who touches such a tree. They estimate the trees to be over a thousand years old, if not more. Very recently, the villagers opened their doors to the fortunate ones who heard of this place and decided to see if it was indeed a real place or just a fairytale they once thought.
Everyone who came and asked those people for healing had been miraculously healed. The people who live in Chodroyal do not practice any modern medicine nor have they any strict religion that they follow. They believe in God and help all beings in His name. No pills, no prescriptions, no ointments – just a simple prayer, the words to which are only known to these village healers.
Yet, it is a wonder as to how many things are not revealed to us in this world; how much we simply don’t know and cannot explain. These untraditional healers do not possess any of the material things we believe we need to maintain a happy fulfilled life. They do not have Gucci handbags nor place any value on any of the material possessions we think we absolutely have to have in our everyday schedule. They refuse to accept money in exchange for their healing service. Instead they encourage you to bring flowers, treats, or simple things you may have in your immediate household. A very simple life, yet it is so hard to comprehend for most of us, being pre-occupied with our daily routine and our ongoing important problems.
What do they really know about humanity and life in general? Why do they possess such an extraordinary gift as healing, the gift that cures anything from evil eye to cancer? Could it be their benevolent connection to nature and God?
Perhaps, their notion of simplicity of life that creates a well-maintained balance between the human kind and the unknown and transparent forces all around us, we with our busy lives and high-demand egos simply do not see or prefer not to notice. Could it be their unconditional way of wanting to help another human being without asking anything in return, or the joy they receive seeing another person’s gratitude?
One may never know…
The only thing that is very clear is they do not live to obtain; they live to give. When one of the villagers was asked what helps him in his healing as well as in his life, he undoubtedly said: “God is with me, for He made my soul immortal.”
