Overlooked paradise locations: Visit these lesser known travel hot spots

Dollie Younkin — If you close your eyes and imagine your dream vacation, where would you go? Would you choose to ski a freshly paradise on earthpowdered snow drift? Would you imagine a thick rain forest full of wildlife? Maybe sand-covered beaches with the orange and red sunset bouncing off the ocean. No matter what your taste, the idea is to get away from everything and everyone and recharge your batteries. If you are looking for your next destination, consider these overlooked paradise hot spots for your vacation.

Binn, Switzerland

If you are looking for a getaway, there aren’t many places more remote than Binn, Switzerland. Only accessible by a train and a bus, this small town in the valley of the Swiss Alps is quiet and quaint. Enjoy as you stay at a cute bed and breakfast before hiking and enjoying the rolling hills. If you are looking to tear up the slopes, winters in Binn offer great skiing with little ski traffic. This is an ideal spot for couples who want serenity and intimacy in a lesser known tourist spot.

Maldives

You can visit the Bahamas, Costa Rica, or even the Virgin Islands for a beach; but if you are looking for a unique and remote island paradise, Maldives is the place to visit. Consisting of 26 island chains, Maldives offers enough land for island hoppers to explore. Unfortunately with rising water and the fact that Maldives is the lowest country above sea level, you need to act fast. If waters continue to rise, the Maldives Islands may disappear.

Galapagos Islands

If you want to see nature at its finest, the Galapagos Islands is the place to see. With no resorts or hotels, this is a place you can visit but not easily stay. There are islands with hotels, but to truly see the beauty of the Galapagos Islands, you should plan for a cruise tour. As most of the islands are conservation areas, you will see their vast wildlife enjoying the weather, beaches, and everything this paradise has to offer.

Vietnam

Vietnam is often overlooked as a vacation hotspot. Yet, the sweeping beaches, beautiful waters, and bustling nightlife, Vietnam is making a name for itself in tourism. There are enough activities to keep your itinerary packed and the thrill of vacation alive. From watersports, to tours, clubs, and diving, you will always have something to do. Sample the Vietnamese cuisine, learn about the culture, and explore the older towns to add cultural learning to any vacation.

Ghana

Many vacationers think of Africa as a land of safari. However, Ghana offers some of the most beautiful beaches and sites in the world. Visit Cape Coast and explore the Cape Coast Castle, taste the local cuisine, or enjoy the low-traffic environment they have to offer. Lodging is cheap, local prices are low, and even with the cost of flight, you can save plenty while taking a gorgeous vacation in paradise.

The world has a lot to offer if you are looking for a paradise to spend your vacation. With so many often overlooked hot spots, you can find peace and quiet while enjoying the local food, sites, and culture of your destination. Plan for something different and unique when you choose your next vacation destination.
