Gordon Matila----We have all had the experience of someone saying, “Gee, you look so tired, “ on those days we feel dragged out; however science tells us that not sleeping well can actually impact folks more than the proverbial day after the night before.

Better sleep helps people look better over the long term, researchers have discovered from research done through the University of Michigan and Michigan Technological University

It isn't just a matter of looking and feeling bright-eyed, as sleep disruptions and disorders, which affects millions of adults, about 40 million according to statistics.Lack of sleep helps put people at risk for heart disease and accidents. The changes that take place in one's health can be detected by a sensitive “face mapping” technique used by the researchers, as they observed changes in patients after they began using a system called CPAP, an apparatus that is used to help them breathe better and therefore sleep better.

Researchers found a definite improvement in patient appearance when they had better sleep.

They looked more youthful, more alert and more attractive, foreheads less puffy, faces less red.

Sleep problems tend to occur more often during the aging process, as medical science observes.  So the older we get, as we try to retain those good looks, the more we should follow doctor's directions and medical support so that we sleep better.
