demonstrate that men who have had circumsions are less apt to pass on
the human papillomavirus (HPV). Parents wondering about whether
circumcisions have health benefits may find this important news.
Two separate studies done on populations of African men during the period
2003 and 2006 found those who had circumcision were less apt to pass on
HPV to their female partners.

Researchers tell us, "Findings indicate that male circumcision should now be

incidence of HPV infections in female partners. However, protection is
only partial; the promotion of safe sex practices is also important."
