Medical identity theft is crime with 'no recourse for recovery'

doctor's office, some thefts occur here
Medical office

"Medical identity theft is a growing and dangerous crime that leaves its victims with little to no recourse for recovery,” said Pam Dixon, World Privacy Forum founder and executive director  “Victims often experience financial repercussions and worse yet, they frequently discover erroneous information has been added to their personal medical files due to the thief's activities.”

While security officials are concerned about the potential of hackers and terrorists to invade military, government and banking networks, professionals are now voicing worries about medical identity theft, as it is already making inroads that are creating problems for individuals and organizations.

People steal medical identities in order to obtain prescription medications, and for related reasons, but doctors have also faked identities in order to receive reimbursements for people who are not their patients.

Jim Marrs: what's behind the terror conspiracy

Judith Martin--Wars don't just happen. They are planned as conspiracies by a small clique of very rich people to further enrich themselves. But the wars and these people can be stopped, perhaps world-wide, maybe forever, says Jim Marrs, author of The Terror Conspiracy and The Rise of the Fourth Reich.

As America prepares to recognize the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy in New York City, allegedly caused by Islamic fanatics, a preacher in Florida prepares to hold a Koran burning at his church. The Koran or Qur'an is the holy book of the Islamic faith; Islam means "those who have submitted to God/Allah'.

Little does this preacher realize that he is being played the fool to put on a show for "big media". His actions are meant to keep people angry about the twisted stories that have been foisted on the American public for decades. Few people really understand what is really going on, Marrs declares.

Jim Marrs writes about it in The Terror Conspiracy. Wars don't just happen. They are planned.

Wars are engineered by an ultra-elite clique of exceedingly wealthy people -- bankers and industrialists -- who control most of the world's money, in order to make more money for themselves.

The principle is simple. Members of the clique start getting different countries or religious groups angry at each other by spreading rumors and lies to both sides.

Then, the clique may stage a few assassinations and skirmishes and claim that one side or the other was responsible. Rumors of war begin to spread.

Soon, with adequate goading, the two sides enter into combat with each other. Of course, the clique continues to supply both sides! The payments for the supplies are taken in by front companies in either country, but ultimately, the clique makes the biggest profits!.

The whole charade can be gotten away with as long as no one realizes that both sides are being set up and used to enrich one group in the middle.

Big Media, which is owned by this clique (says Marrs), publishes stories in which buzz words are used like "Jihad" and "Al Qaida" without any real explanation of the true meaning behind those words. (Jihad means the inner struggle of a person to reject the temptations and evils of the world, and to seek to live an upright, sober, and temperate life. Al Qaida means "the list", and is an actual data base of names of freedom fighters hired by the American CIA to fight the Russians in Afghanistan decades ago.)

Big Media plays up all the bad news that comes from the battle front. After all, bad news sells newspapers and increases subscriptions to TV news stations.

The slanted stories also help to give the better-armed side a self-righteous attitude towards the other, that being better armed, they are the "good guys" and the other side is the "bad guys" -- basically.

This pastor in Florida needs to be told the truth about how he is thumbing his nose at the wrong enemy. At least it would be worth a try.

The real enemy is the clique in Marrs way of interpreting events.    Jim Marrs has no doubt that its control over the world will come to an end, whether under the forces of entropy (losing energy to keep going), or by some unexpected series of natural and man-made disasters.

Yet, ordinary people can put in motion various means to hurry on that day, probably even quite a lot sooner than the clique is prepared for.  A lowly preacher can play a role in hurrying things along.

Marrs does close his latest book The Rise of The Fourth Reich, with a call to action by the peoples of Earth. There is no one way that will succeed in dethroning the clique, but the first an most important one has to be to get out the word, to let people everywhere know how they are being beggared for the enrichment of the few.

Controversies on rehabilitating terrorists

[caption id="attachment_13582" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Captives at Guantanamo"][/caption]

Carol Forsloff - The University of Maryland has concluded it is possible to de-radicalize a terrorist and calls for that to be done in the areas where terrorism is a problem.

According to new research, from the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland, and the International Center for the Study of Radicalization at Kings College, London, programs to de-radicalize terrorists will work if well run in such countries as Saudi-Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia and elsewhere "can make a difference."

The way detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan and Iraq are handled need to be re-examined, this research suggests.
"This is a much bigger issue than most people appreciate," explains University of Maryland professor Gary LaFree, who directs START. "It's a classic problem really. Prisons change behavior for both good and for bad. It's difficult to detain prisoners forever, but when is it safe to let them go?"

Recommendations include"

1.  Developing more positive approaches to re-entry to the community

2.  Stopping the over-crowding and under-staffing

3.  Recognizing that religious conversion is not the same as radicalization

4.  Look at what works, what positive outcomes have occurred from programs in Singapore and Indonesia

5.  Recognize this doesn't replace programs on the war on terror.:

This finding will be presented at ICSR's Peace and Security Summit in New York City on Thursday, July 1 and then again in the fall at a presentation to 15 nations.

.

"Initial results indicate that the programs can work, though probably not 100 percent of the time," LaFree adds. "Just as with regular criminals, individual and community supports help combat recidivism. But with terrorism and ideology there's an added dimension. In general, it's easier to de-radicalize when a movement is on the decline - when the battle seems lost, so to speak. Sri Lanka's experience with the Tamil Tigers offers an example."
