Expert: The best way for a business to get on Google's first page

GHN News Editor - An
expert tells us that all of the tips and tricks to get on the first
place of Google often don't work, but getting on the first page of
Google can be done by going local.

Some
businesses have figured out, but not the rank majority.  Many
businesses still believe they need a website.  Then they learn they are
sandwiched among many hundreds of thousands of business owners in
similar categories and therefore seldom seen.

Google places, however, does the trick according to Andrea Wilson, an online marketing guru out of Vancouver B.C.

Wilson
tells us, "When you search for a local business, you will often see a
small version of Google Maps, with several ’Place page’ listings beside
it or near it. These Place pages often appear right in the middle of the
list of actual Web sites. If you click on the link to the business, you
will see its profile, including contact information, reviews, services
provided, images and a link to its Web site, if it has one.

"After checking out our free video on how to properly set up your local listings profile (http://www.OnlineMarketingVancouver.com/free-video/),
go to Google Places and ’claim’ your listing, or Google will just
populate your profile as best it can! Then fill out your profile
following the directions in the free video"

Search
engine optimization is what is required to get on the first pages of
Google.  This is one of them, as Google Place pages currently have less
competition than Web sites because they are so localized since only
seven Place pages get onto that first page.

This is the site at http://www.OnlineMarketingVancouver.com/free-video/  where finding out how to set up one's local listings for maximum effectiveness can be done.
