Veteran has his car stolen during memorial service on Veterans Day

SALEM, OREGON - Carol Forsloff - While
many people honored veterans last Thursday on Veterans Day, one of them
had his car stolen in Oregon while attending a memorial service.

A

28-year military veteran had his car stolen while attending a Veteran's
Day memorial service in the Salem Capitol Mall area.  Oregon State
Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to find the vehicle and
locate the person(s) responsible for its theft.  The name of the man was
not given by the police at the time of the announcement to the press.

According to OSP Sergeant Scott Lorimor, on November 11, 2010 between
2:55 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. someone stole a dark green 1996 Honda Accord
four-door displaying Oregon license TED 916.  The car's owner, a 67-year
old Salem man, parked the car in the Veteran's Building parking lot.
While he attended a memorial his car was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Lorimor at (503) 986-1121.

A photograph of a similar year, make and model of the stolen vehicle is provided with this release.
